Local Meat Farmers Can't Swallow Food Regulations

It is illegal to sell cuts of meat if they have not been slaughtered and processed in a United States Department of Agriculture-certified facility. Largely out of frustration with a system that costs hundreds of dollars per pig, many small farmers have taken to slaughtering animals themselves.
