Metro Times Best of Detroit Issue Turns 25
DETROIT – This year marks the 25th anniversary of the inaugural Metro Times Best of Detroit Issue and the voting frenzy has begun. Detroiters are casting their ballots by the thousands and waiting to see who will win the prestigious Best of Detroit titles for 2011.

The Metro Times Best of Detroit issue is one of the longest-running annual ballots in metro Detroit and many businesses display their previous awards with pride. Every year, Metro Times editors and readers slate their favorite choices for the highly regarded awards with the list announced in the Best of Detroit special edition. This year’s ballot is currently live on metrotimes.com and will remain live until midnight on March 31. The Best of Detroit will hit stands on April 27.

On Friday, April 29, Metro Times will turn MotorCity Sound Board into a rock’n’roller Derby-themed extravaganza complete with Detroit’s very own local Detroit Derby Girls. The Best of Detroit Party turns three this year and will celebrate the best metro Detroit restaurants, clubs, businesses and more.

Metro Times will provide a lavish party atmosphere with complimentary catering provided by American Coney Island, Claddagh Irish Pub, MotorCity Casino Hotel, The Henry Ford (Food Service/Catering), Zumba and many more to be announced. Complimentary drinks will be available courtesy of Barefoot Wine, Finlandia Vodka, Jack Daniels Whiskey and Herradura Tequila.

Metro Times will host the official after-party at Amnesia Ultra Lounge directly following the main party starting at 11 p.m. More details to follow shortly.

The Best of Detroit party is an invitation-only event. Readers are given a chance to enter-to-win invitations on the Best of Detroit Ballot. There will be more announcements including entertainment to follow leading up to the event on April 29.
