Isthmus Sales Manager Joins Alternative Weekly Network Board

MADISON, WI -- Colin Murray, sales manager for Isthmus Publishing Company, has recently been appointed to the board of Alternative Weekly Network (AWN), a non-profit corporation comprised of 110 independent, alternative weekly newspapers.

Colin Murray has been the sales manager for Isthmus (Madison WI) since 2005 when he was promoted from sales representative. He began his media career at the Madison Times, a small, weekly, multi-cultural newspaper, where he concentrated on and grew classified advertising sales. He later worked at Erickson Publishing as a sales representative, contributing to such publications as Anew (now Brava), Dane County Kids, Now Hiring and Badgerland Sports for Kids.

Mr. Murray has an extensive business background in Madison. He is currently a member of Madison Advertising Federation (a local chapter of the American Advertising Federation), the planning committee for Dane County Buy Local Group and the planning committee for Madison Business Alliance (a local LGBT business group).

"I am honored to join the AWN board. It's important for Isthmus to have a presence at the national level with such a respectable organization. We have been given the opportunity to represent local business to other major markets around the country on both the regional or national level," said Mr. Murray.
