Former AAN Diversity Grant Recipient Receives U.S. Citizenship
Last week Congo refugee and former Boise Weekly contributor Fidel Nshombo was honored by the mayor of Boise for his accomplishments as a refugee advocate and to commemorate his recent U.S. citizenship.

In 2009, Boise Weekly received a $1,250 grant from AAN as part of its Diversity Grant program. The funding allowed Boise Weekly to kick-start its global culture blog, The Grip, where Nshombo wrote about Africa, the World Cup and refugees.
