Dayton City Paper Ousted From AAN

The Association of Alternative Newsweeklies has terminated the membership of Dayton City Paper for non-payment of dues. The organization's bylaws give its executive committee the power to terminate any member that fails to pay within 180 days of billing, and in a meeting last week in Toronto, the committee voted to exercise those rights.

Dues for the current fiscal year were payable on October 1, 2009.

Originally called the Dayton Voice, the Ohio alt-weekly operated as Impact Weekly for a few years before settling upon its current name, Dayton City Paper, in 2003. In January 2009, owner Kerry Farley sold the paper to a local nightclub owner.
