Founded in 1997, the locally owned and operated City Paper is Charleston's only weekly alternative newspaper and the second-largest publication in the metro Charleston area. Reaching a strong mix of active, affluent locals and tourists, the City Paper has thrived in a market that consistently ranks as one of the nation's most sought after locations to visit and to live. Charleston is a city of festivals and special events, highlighted every year in May by the Spoleto Festival, an internationally acclaimed celebration of the performing arts.

The City Paper provides Charleston's most extensive coverage of the local news, arts and entertainment scene, offering social and political commentary, exhaustive listings and fresh articles both in print and digitally.
