Alt-Cartoonist’s Graphic Novel About Friendship With Jeffrey Dahmer Is A Best Seller

Alt-cartoonist and The City creator John "Derf" Backderf's, graphic novel, My Friend Dahmer, has recently entered the bestseller charts and has completely sold out its first printing.

The novel is a memoir of Backderf's teenage friendship with the awkward, lonely Dahmer, who killed his first victim shortly after high school graduation.

"His storytelling is thoroughly modern," writes Dan Kois on Slate. "An empathetic attempt to dig into the mind of a young man whose psyche was crumbling day by day, using research, reporting, and his own memories of the time."
