He’s mellowed considerably in his persona, his productivity and his creative aesthetic, though none of those outcomes is a surprise to Husker Du fans from the Metal Circus days.

The Christmas Blizzard of 2010new
Scene: On Christmas Day, up in New Jersey, my Uncle Tom, a sort-of retired school superintendent, indulges in his love/fear of adverse weather by clicking away from the holiday sporting events and losing himself in the Weather Channel’s breathless revue of storm porn. Every few minutes he hops from the couch to update us on the forecasted severity of the oncoming blizzard.

This year, Halloween fell on a weekend, and to rephrase Bushwick Bill’s most apt verse, everyone came to Asheville for trick-or-treatin’. MoogFest brought tens of thousands of costumed ravers and revelers to downtown Asheville for a weekend of informed discussion and practical application of Bob Moog’s illustrious legacy.
