San Diego CityBeat Columnist Wins Reader's Digest Contest
San Diego CityBeat columnist Jim Ruland was the top vote-getter in a Reader's Digest story story contest, earning him a $25,000 cash prize.

Ruland's short story, "Homeward Bound," clocks in at 150 words (per contest instructions) and will be published in a future issue of Reader's Digest.
