Saambaa Launches New Content Network, Adding 9 AAN Publishers
San Diego, CA. – Saambaa, which is funded by the Knight Foundation, recently launched their new Content Network for publishers, adding 9 new AAN member publications: Chicago Reader, Seven Days, Dig Boston, Creative Loafing Charlotte, Salt Lake City Weekly, NUVO, Portland Phoenix, Planet Jackson Hole and Erie Reader. The platform enables any publisher to generate revenue and brand extension by syndicating their listings across a broad array of large consumer websites and apps.

“Should a travel site tell you what’s happening at your destination? Should a dating app give you ideas on where to take your date? From gallery openings to live music and everything in-between – we believe life would be a little better if your favorite apps and sites delivered this information directly to you.” Said saambaa CEO and co-founder, Matt Voigt. “In today’s on-demand, short attention-span world, information and services are delivered on a platter; we are conditioned to expect things to show up without much effort. The same goes for content – it’s not about searching, it’s about delivering. Our platform provides local publishers leverage to access these new distribution opportunities.”

Saambaa does not charge fees for its platform. Instead, publishers receive a revenue share on ads saambaa places within their content. Saambaa also places publishers’ logo and link atop every listing, so users know where the content comes from. Local publishers can sell into the network, but don’t have to. The platform is designed to be plug-n-play with zero effort, giving publishers a new revenue stream against an expense they have already incurred.
