MoVoxx Partners with Bay Guardian to Deliver Exclusive Weekly Mobile Offers to its Readers
San Francisco, CA, January 24, 2007 – MoVoxx, a localized mobile alerts platform that helps publishers and advertisers extend their content and promotions to mobile devices, and the San Francisco Bay Guardian, a free alternative weekly newspaper offering independent reporting of news, culture, arts, and entertainment for the Bay Area, have launched a print-to-mobile trial to exclusively bring mobile alerts in specific categories for Guardian’s readers.

San Francisco Bay Guardian in-print and online editions will feature a service offering that allows its readership to receive exclusive offers of the week in the “Nightlife” category on their cell phone through MoVoxx. A user calls an 800 number (800-941-3563) and enters a code “CLUB” (2582) to opt-in to an alert system powered by MoVoxx’s unique technology. MoVoxx system then sends periodic weekly alerts, focused specifically on the “Nightlife” category, pertaining to the category of user’s interest.

For the “Nightlife” category, offerings may include, but are not limited to new club openings, popular band concerts or bar specials in a form of mobile coupons. A user can then present a mobile coupon displayed on a cell phone at the register for a range of discounts from drink specials to lower cover charges.

“Guardian’s progressive thinking and attractive readership demographic of urban trendsetters aligns perfectly with MoVoxx’s mission to offer users the most relevant information and discounts exclusively in their categories of interest on a cell phone,” said Alec Andronikov, CEO of MoVoxx. “We are excited to provide Guardian’s advertisers with an invaluable opportunity to target mobile users who have specifically requested to receive offers for their unique interests.”

“Adding useful, non-intrusive cellular services to our marketing and editorial mix is a top priority for us,” said Jody Colley, Director of Sales & Marketing at the San Francisco Bay Guardian. “With online, we have seen amazing growth as we catch up with the medium. But with cellular, we have made two recent partnerships that have put us ahead. MoVoxx is an important part of our plan to be the leading print publication to offer mobile customer reach for our advertisers.”

MoVoxx alert service is free of charge for the consumer (standard text messaging charges apply). MoVoxx does not share phone numbers with any advertisers. Offers are often exclusive to the Guardian’s readers, who will receive periodic alerts with no spam and can opt out at any time by visiting www.movoxx.com.
