AAN Papers Using SelectAlternatives Enjoy 12.5 Percent Revenue Growth

Study looks at 14 AAN papers' performance for March 2008 versus March 2007.

AAN papers using SelectAlternatives saw, on average, a 12.5 percent increase in revenues for March 2008 compared to March 2007.

The fourteen AAN newspapers that have been using the SelectAlternatives local personals/social networking system for at least one year are: The Stranger; Portland Mercury; Chicago Reader; Washington City Paper; Salt Lake City Weekly; Austin Chronicle; Nuvo; Sacramento, Chico and Reno News & Review; Atlanta, Charlotte and Tampa Creative Loafing; and Seven Days.

Comparing March 2008 performance for the same papers to March 2007:

Total gross revenues increased 12.5 percent. Of the group, the Portland Mercury enjoyed the highest percentage growth in revenues (59.6 percent), followed closely by Seven Days (58.9 percent).

Total new member profiles (ads) increased 20.0 percent.

Total page views increased 16.8 percent to 6.2 million.

On average, each visitor to the websites viewed 14.3 pages. And, each unique visitor generated an average of $0.30 in revenues.
