AAN Joins Coalition Lobbying for an Improved FOIA

The coalition was formed in order to support the passage of several bills that have been introduced in Congress to improve the Freedom of Information Act. The group hopes to educate the public and lawmakers about FOIA by providing examples where its use exposed government corruption, or where a government agency denied or failed to respond in a timely manner to a FOIA request that had the potential to do the same.
