Staff Reporter

Position Available at Planet Jackson Hole
Posted April 27, 2018
Type of Position: Permanent Full-Time
The award-winning Planet Jackson Hole is looking for a Staff Reporter to join its small but scrappy newsroom.

We want a versatile journalist who can report on multiple beats. That means distilling local politics and immigration issues, writing about the area’s vibrant arts scene, or filing a dispatch about an outdoor adventure.

Hemmed in by the jagged Teton Mountain Range, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, a gateway to Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks, is one of the most beautiful places in the country. It boasts endless outdoor recreation in its mountains, rivers and valleys. But beneath the surface is a community grappling with some of the same issues facing large metropolises: a historic housing crisis, staggering income disparity, a marginalized immigrant populace. The area also presents reporting opportunities unique to Wyoming and the Rocky Mountain West concerning wildlife, public lands and mountain culture, to name a few. As Wyoming’s only alternative news-weekly, Planet Jackson Hole often examines these issues through a social justice lens.
