Portico President and AAN Board Member Says Farewell

Steve Delgado, president of Portico Publications, has left his post with the company to relocate to his small hometown of Los Angeles, Calif. Delgado has been with the company since July 2002 acting as publisher, vice president and finally president of the three newspaper organization since July of 2006. At the last annual meeting of the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies, he was elected to the Board of Directors.

"The last eight years with Portico have been an exciting time in my life and it was a very difficult decision to leave the company," said Delgado. "The people who make C-VILLE Weekly, Free Times and Metro Spirit go are immensely talented and I will miss working with them every day. I'm looking forward to finding a group on the left coast with an equal amount moxie that can bring out my best."

Delgado will relocate to the Los Angeles area this summer and consult with Portico until that time. He will not be immediately replaced.

"Steve's smarts, commitment and energy to making Portico great has been unwavering and we will miss working with him," said Bill Chapman, Chairman of Portico Publications. "Steve worked to develop the deep talent pool that we have in every division of our organization. That talent will continue to move this company upward and onward."
