Augusta, GA -- Tom Grant, editor of Metro Spirit, will be leaving his post in late July. Grant, an award-winning journalist, has been editor of the paper since October of 2005.

"The last four years have been an exciting time for Metro Spirit and we've accomplished a lot together," said Grant. "Metro Spirit is ready for a new voice and the paper and I have agreed that it's a good time for someone new to write the next chapter of Spirit's history."

Grant will continue in his position through the end of July while Metro Spirit conducts a national search for its next editor. "Tom's commitment to making Metro Spirit great has been unwavering," said Bryan Osborn, publisher of Metro Spirit. "Replacing someone of his stature will be difficult, but we're treating this as an exciting opportunity to bring a new voice and energy to Augusta and Metro Spirit's 40,000 plus readers."
