The Colorado Springs Independent, KOAA-TV/Channels 5 & 30, plus 10 regional radio stations have joined forces to create Southern Colorado's largest classified web portal, which will display local ads gleaned from more than 500 national websites.

"SoCoAds.com will feature only classified ads relevant to Southern Colorado residents," said Independent publisher John Weiss. "Visitors can access Colorado Springs and Pueblo employment, automotive, real estate, and other ads placed in the Independent as well as from national portals like Monster, CareerBuilder, Hotjobs, AutoMart and eBay on a single, easy-to-use site."

Access to SoCoAds.com is free, as is classified ad placement. Visitors simply click on "Post your FREE ad" to enter their ad copy and photos. Preferred positioning and other upgrades are available at additional cost. Advertisers can also enhance their online ads with optional placement in the Independent's print classifieds. The Independent is the region's largest locally owned newspaper, reaching 104,000 adults (22 percent of El Paso County adults.)

"Southern Colorado now has easy, one-stop online shopping for jobs, apartments, cars, pets, roommates... virtually anything," said Ethan Beute, creative services director at KOAA-TV. "SoCoAds.com captures in one convenient place locally-relevant ads that have been posted on niche websites that are easy to overlook, such as roomster.com, ticketmaster.com, foreclosure.com, myspace.com, boattrader.com and hundreds of other small portals that regularly feature Colorado Springs and Pueblo listings."

"SoCoAds.com will provide a valuable service to the listeners of our six regional stations," says Phill Emmert, General Sales Manager for Citadel Broadcastings' PEAK 92.9 FM, 98.1 KKFM, Cat Country 95.1 FM, Magic FM 98.9, Talk Radio 740 AM KVOR and ESPN 1300 AM -- The Sports Animal.

Andrew Juett is Clear Channel Communications Sales Manager for four popular local stations: Y96.9 FM Today’s Best Country, 96.1 The Beat, My 99.9 and K-Lite 106.3. "With SoCoAds.com buyers, sellers, job seekers and others don't have to visit dozens of sites to find what they're looking for," Juett said. "Now -- it's all right here."
