Say Amennew
Based on a novel by Bishop T.D. Jakes, a black evangelical preacher and author who also co-stars, this unusual film is part revivalist sermon, part narrative drama, and wholly urgent and engaging.

Woman, Thou Art Loosed Preached to Audience, Literallynew
Bishop T.D. Jakes plays himself in the film version and frequently shows off his rolling oratory. Woman features a strong spiritual message and a genuine concern for the social problems that lead women to crime, but its script seldom integrates the two.

Good Godnew
Bishop T.D. Jakes' book has become a powerful movie about the hypocrisy that has kept black Christian women from becoming preachers, and salvation.
